Hello All,
First post as I assume I will be needing some help as time goes on. I am an OFM (old fat man) that went looking for a first car for my 17 year old son (Connor in South Florida), by having my 24 year old son who has a shop up in North Dakota (Brett) source and build his dream car. Uh, I may have gone overboard. Brett found a very clean AP1 with a perfect interior and I then had him add a hardtop. Thinking about it, I thought "what about the wheels and tires:, Connor liked red so Brett powder coated them and put on some new decent tires. Then I thought, "we need better brakes, maybe suspension", so we put new stoptech rotors on along with Hawk pads and new coil overs. Then I was thinking it maybe needed some more HP, so out went an order for a SOS stage 2 blower kit. Hmm, its South Florida so we need better cooling, as such a new Koyo radiator was sourced. Then there was the clutch, with more HP we need a better clutch. Science of speed to the rescue again along with the slightly lightened flywheel. Then it was a new gauge cluster, sound system and alarm system. The following pics show what it looks like today. The only thing left is a catch can which Brett is just finishing.
So, it will need a headliner when it gets down to Florida in a couple of weeks and I need to find a decent shop for that. Past that, I hope that it will be well received by Connor. It turns out that I somewhat lied to him over the years as we spoke about cars. I kept saying that I was going to get him something with a supercharger sticking out of the frickin hood, but it turns out I failed in the sticking out of the hood part. I gotta say, my son Brett does nice work and Connor is thrilled his brother built him a car.
The cover plates and valve cover are predominantly stock. My son welded on the bungs for AN fittings to connect to a catch can, and then powder coated everything. The plates around the engine are just powder coated.

Never seen them before; my UK MY05 car doesn't have them; but I do have a very similar after-market engine cooling panel...I circled them in blue just in case my description is terrible
