so close to being locked if people don't stop bashing each other.

to hit on the price of exhausts, the 800-1000 dollars exhausts might have small top end gains but mid range flow and power increases along with a huge weight savings with titanium exhausts.

for a DIY but the pricey exhausts do have a purpose to being a lot more. Not to totally justify 1200 for an exhaust but I see definate reasons to spend money on a good exhaust.

Sorry, but it looks like crap with the silencer inside.

Since you've got the skills, why not have 2 Ti mufflers instead of 1.

Ti mufflers are so light, the second one will add almost no weight, but will double the baffling. Then you could get rid of that nasty silencer.

It would also get rid of the gaping hole on the other side.

Thanks again guys! Much appreciated. If I had a TIG and all the parts necessary in the garage, I would have built many different things just for fun.

I think it is worth a try to do DIY stuff. That's how I learn and enjoy modding my car

nicely done, I may go this route... i hate paying 800 for an exhaust that 700bucks is just the name
Buy a T1R single and you pay 500USD....all for the exhaust
I hate when people buy a 30K car and than try to safe 200-300USD on such a critical part as the exhaust
But then hey, it's your car, your ghetto

critical part? maybe if I had a SC or a turbo, but for an NA, an exhaust isn't a critical part. What was said on here, a 2-3hp difference on the top end? I see two things in there... a small hp difference is one the dyno... Temp can vastly change the hp on the car, a dyno can even measure it wrong, etc... Another thing is that I don't go into the top end...I like my clean record than to push my car everytime to get that 2-3 hp difference and to get my 800 bucks worth.

If you want sound, then why not DIY your own exhaust for a furaction of the cost?

I hate it when people say "you bought a 30k car and then buy low cost stuff for it"... Most people didn't buy their car for 30 grand, nor feel like spending more than a grand on exhaust, grand on intake, and more than a grand on ex. manifold for a few hp? I rather buy another car that likes basic bolt ons and get a great deal of power from it. But its not what I bought it for, I love it the way it is (power) and thats that.

Just because you have a turbo and other expensive stuff doesn't make you a S2000 king and give you a right to call other people car's ghetto.
