New Nikon D80...
Nice camera - a few quick tips before you get immersed in the photography section
1) Get some software - ditch iPhoto (I assuming you're on a mac) and get Aperture *cough cough limewire cough cough*
2) Watch your horizons - all of them, except for 1, are off.
3) Start reading

just some observation: you are focusing the camera wrong in some pictures, i dont know it's the mode or it's just the camera(shiny metal surface under dim light with autofocus=hit or miss)
aperture is too big for the last two photo, you lost some sharpiness/detail on some part of the car
not bad for a new shooter, dont' get me wrong about me dissing you
<--nikon user as well
edit: software is the last thing you want to mess with for a newbie, get the habit that you need to get the absolutely best raw/base photo now instead of spending time on the computer fixing what you should be doing at the first place. It's a common habit of guy learning photography after the age of manual camera and darkroom(been there, done that), they spend the whole day messing with one photo instead of having fun shooting all day. Don't get me wrong, i love ps/lr/illustrator, etc and what they can do but something as fundamental as aperture/shutter should be your first priority as a learner/student now.

Thanks guys for all the advice and comments!
As for the iphoto, the only reason I'm using it, is because it's all I know.
We have Aperture and Photoshop on our Mac, but I haven't touched them. My wife works at Apple, so she's the brains in the family.
