kinda missed the point a little on why I went with this set up. I too thoght the same thing when I saw these being done but volkswagon enthusiasts have been doing this for many years and it makes sense.

I'm sorry but can you explain that in a little more detail? What does that pic prove? I don't understand why you'd get such a wide wheel and then put such skinny tires on it, I have wider rear rubber on my AP1 stockers.

Do you think anyone here thinks the tires look ridiculous on the Gallery/GP Sports AP1? No, sorry, I don't recall having seen anyone post that the car looks retarded.

It looks aggressive with the tire and wheel combination w/ that stance. The look is very popular with the european crowd as well as with the Vip and drift camps.
While it may be true that I will not drift my S2k, or even tackle some cones on a gymkhana, I do enjoy the look of peoples faces when they exclaim, "DAMN, that's nice".
If I wanted to run fatter tires, I would have just bought a Mustang Convertible and call it a day.
Double points go to someone that knows why drifters even stretch their tires to absurd levels.
Kthx.

Interesting choice of words considering that all I did was ask a simple question, "why?"
