On this picture, the bright purple light from the building on the top left attract your eyes too much and don't allow you to focus in on other areas of the portrait. Try to photoshop those bright purple lights out.

I'll have to try that. Hey, do you guys know how to do monochrome with the Canon Digital Rebel? I dont think it has a monochrome mode, so i'm assuming it's the color settings, but which one? Hue? Saturation? I'm an amateur with no photo or art class education, so any help would be very valuable.
