They are OK. If I would trade an S, it would have to be for an M Coupe (Z3 or Z4). I hope you can get reliablity out of it! Nothing beats Honda reliability!

the z's too proper, too mechanized and civilized
the interior is nice (I STILL prefer the s2k's formula 1 driver oriented styling though)
but it is good to try new things, realize how great that little honda was lol

(haha biased forums ftw)

Elise would have been the way to go. I see the elise is more performance less luxury than the S. The bmw is more luxury less performance than the S. So I can see what you value more.
