Post Not an S2K, but...

hello peeps, i've been a long time viewer/member, but i only posted yesterday night. any way, heres my car, its a '97 Nissan 200SX SE, and I have an SR20DE to go in next summer.

It should be rebuilt with a GT3071R, HKS 264 step II cams and springs, titanium retainers, Greddy rocker arm stoppers, polish/port, ARP head studs, Cometic head gasket, O2 Induction bored TB, Fidanza 8lb flywheel, UR pullies, solid bushings, and a Jim Wolf ECU.

The suspension will be Ksport coilovers, bushings all around, 4pt LCA, sway bars, and STB. Body mods are simple and clean, a rare Syndicate Kustomz C/F lip, SE-R factory sides, a C/F hood, gutted grill, smoked headlights, and factory SE-R wheels gunmetal w/polished lip.

I think thats all...

I guess that's a good start. Post some pics as you start to get your work done to it.

a sentra with a sr20 would be nice though

hey guys, thanks for the help and responses! well, i got this car, because it was in great shape decent mileage, great price, and it only had one owner before me. well, its my first stick, but i knew how to drive stick before. anyway, it was a nice change from every other civic that i see, and as soon as i joined the forums, i saw all these SR20's in the B14's. so: light car + powerful motor = poop loads of fun

the SR is practically bulletproof. the USDM motor safely, and reliably supports 400whp for daily driven apps. plus the aftermarket support is outrageous. originally, i was gonna go all motor on the GA16DE thats in right now, then, I was gonna turbo it, THEN, I was beginning to see that all this work on the 1.6 would "only" get ~250whp. So i accidentally stumbled on the classified with someone selling their SR20 for $200, and it was close enough! I drove to L.I. and it was pretty clean and had only 66k on it. unfortunately, i've been too busy and broke to work on it, and its been in storage since august

but thats about to change this spring and summer

I think it's awesome you have ambitions, but let me give you advice from someone who had a 350whp sentra... it will cost a ton... it WILL break 3rd gear at some point... and you'll be fighting traction even in 3rd gear... it's a novelty, fun to shock sports cars on the highway, but at some point you realize you have a FWD car that is bound to break again and again... I was fortunate enough it wasn't my daily driver... and I DID have fun.. but I wish I had the money back fwiw I had a DE motor with VG30DEtt pistons and a GREX headgasket (8.4:1 compression with this setup I think)... then just went with the Fmax stage 2 kit... it was a very nice and complete kit with the JWT ecu... never even tuned it, ran 1.1 bar and trapped at 118mph... I drove it like that for over a year on pump gas, only had transmission problems, motor was great.

plan on spending $5k minimum just in turbocharging it with everything needed, guages, boost controller etc.. add in the motor rebuild (couple grand at a reputable shop)... suspension etc... you can see how it goes... what starts out as a bang for the buck car soon has you8 $10k in that you'll never get back.... that's before you desroy 3rd gear, buy another used SE-R tranny, get the gears cryo'd and shotpeened, the weak part of the case welded and put back in.. etc

Whatever you decide Good luck and enjoy the car!

A Sunny Coupe? Cool!!! But as mention above, I failed to see this as a good platform for a fast car, sorry.

One of my good friends had an older box style SE-R with around 400+ whp, he went through 3 transmissions in like 1 month because he kept destroying third gear. What's a fast car worth if it breaks all the time.
