I have seen that video a few times already and evertime I always wonder to myself, wtf was the tuner looking at? Certainly it wasn't his A/F's. This video kept playing in my head the first time I went to get my car tuned on the dyno.

 

That is at Altered Atmosphere here in MD..... The guy there dosent know how to tune (obviously). He tells peopel they are running rich when they are running lean....he will point to a part on the chart and say "hey, you are breaking up right here" and it is a perfectly tuned curve.... I have witnessed him try to "tune" a couple of my good friends cars there (400hp+ Eclipse, Supra), he dosen't know his hand from his ass, I don't even know how he is still working there... They just try to build up all these BS stories in the hopes that people are dumb enough to have Altered "fix" their cars for an assinsane amount....

Take the NSX for example..... Blows up on the dyno (it was on nitrous), Obviously not covered by the factory, and the owner signed the release that basically says Altered is not responsible for damage to the car, and then Altered suggest since the car is unmovable that the owner avioid a hefty towing bill (unless he has AAA) and have them repair the car for only the cost of his arm and leg....

All BS in my opinion, bottom line, don't go there.

Hello 2003. Wow, hadnt seen that one in years. Great post. That motor is almost as much as an S2000. Short block alone will run you $23,000 new.

 

and that is the exact reason why I dont drive a NSX.
