its a long story, i had 715 mi on the car so boy i enjoyed it ... but ended up returning the 2004 for my 02 that i had traded cause the dealer ed up the car in service. Currently schedule to pickup a Rio tomorrow at another dealer. wish me luck, i have broken in more s2k than some people combined lol, this is my 5th.

 

Well you are already a Master at this situations, I just learning Temptations are killing me but I wouldnt do that to my baby, the highest I've being is 5K and it was for a fraction of a second by accident!

 

Once you get it over with you ll experience what i like to call a CARGASM which is where you grin with enthusiasm hear beat elevates and its the only time when a man does not think about money or women, when he is going really fast in vtec. or is it just me?

 

OH man I can't wait! I have now 280 miles. What what mileage do you recommend me to hit V-Tec at? The owners manual says 600 miles but I wanted to wait until 800 at least.

 

This has been discussed many times on the board, but here is my story.

When I picked up my car I drove it around to the service department for an alignment check and stood around talking to all the mechanics about the S2000 - mine was the first '04 they had sold. I used to have an '02 and did the proper waiting to V-tech and in my discussions with the Honda mechanics they all agreed to wait a couple of hundred miles letting the rings seat but basically to break it in as you are going to drive it! Surprised me... so I did! After I put about 300 miles on it I took it to red-line and never looked back. One thing I have noticed is with my "02 I used about a quart of oil every 1500 miles, but with my '04 I have not used any oil at all and I'm getting close to 4500 miles on it.
