You mean a car that tends to oversteer naturally, right?

Haha, no, the car understeers stock. Not only does every magazine that does reviews the car say moderate understeer, you can do a simple test your self. Drive on a skid pad without any abrupt pedal or steering input and gradually increase your speed. You'll find that the front brakes traction before the rear everytime.

Car manufactures do stagger wheel set ups on almost all shorter wheelbased car's from the factory because it's easier to correct and less of an insurance hazard. Most any novice driver nails the brake when they start to feel the car rotate, so that's why there are so many spin out's in car's with a close to neutral feel. The Z06 and Viper are probably the closest to neutral sports car's to drive.

Do you believe in the famed "snap oversteer" as well?
We'll agree to disagree. The only time I encountered snap-oversteer was because I over-drove my car. I suspect a lot of "snap-oversteer" accidents happen b/c a novice driver not used to vehicle dynamics overdrove their car (a duh-statement lol) But the car does snap-oversteer - as evidenced by the suspension geometry changes which took place on the AP2. Changing my style of driving in my AP1 has ironed out these issues.

Regardless, changes from 00-08 have been progressively towards more understeer -- as can be historically documented in the spring & swaybar changes ...Even the CR took on 255's in the rear to induce even more understeer.

As it stands, I personally like a sensitive front-end, so I run a non-staggered setup - and I like it very much so.

I like the staggered look alot, my fenders arent rolled but I can roll them. By any chance do u have pics of each stance or do I need to just search this whole thread? I want a wide rear tire to put 400whp to the ground.

I think the widest rear tire you're going to fit without some overfenders is a 255. I am "rolled" with relocated bumper tab and some neg camber and I barely clear lowered only 1.5"s
Sorry but I only have pics of my set-up

17x8 +45 215/45/17
17x9 +45 255/40/17

I plan to go up to a 235/40/17 front next time I buy tires. I am lowered about 1.5"s and my rears are cut out and I relocated the bumper tabs.

Here are a bunch of shots from different angles, these are old though now I have an ap2 front but you can see the difference in the convex fronts and the concave rears. I am running -1.9 camber in the rear and -.6 in the front

Yes I know, that's my point. If you increase the stagger, you're making a car that already has a tendency to understeer, understeer even more. You kept the same size front tire (which is too small OEM anyways, that's why the car understeers instead of being neutral) and gave it a bigger rear tire, causing even more rear grip enhancing the understeer effect. A bigger front sway bar would make it understeer EVEN more! With that set up before you even get into shock/spring tuning your car would plow.

Now, getting into the spring set up, you are running same stiffness springs which is different from OEM (stiffer front than rear) so that added stiffness in the rear is dialing out some of the understeer but IMO you'd have to do some serious shock tuning and adjustment not to mention alignment work to counter the lack of front tire compared to rear tire as well as the bigger front sway. Usually guys run a bigger sway bar in the front only when they are giving the front end more tire decreasing the size of stagger. A softer front suspension or stiffer rear would dial out the understeer. That's why I asked how soft your front set up is. Hope that helps. Good luck with the set up and  for some awesome track coilovers!!!

Sorry for the hi-jack, more pics of Replica Formula 1's !!!
Right. I want more understeer.

I jsut posted a TON of info on these wheels to help you pick out what you want. I guess you ignored it all. No one can tell you what to get, you need to decide on your own
