u must be slammed man. I ran 17x9 +45 with a 2" drop on a 255 rear tire and never rubbed. I shaved the inner lip flush (instead of rolling) and relocated the tab. I had about 5-7mm of clearance at full compression of the suspension. I was running -1.9 in the rear

Hmm, I had mine rolled and relocated as well. I am lowered on skunk2's which I think is a 2.5in drop. 17x9 +45 as well, although I am running azeni's 245/45.. I think the 45 series hurt me a little because of the height. It should be relatively close to the 255 with a 40 set up though? I want to try and run as little as camber as possible.. I think I am going to run -3.3 and see if it rubs.

Well here's a comparison between the two tires according to tire rack. I just picked a random tire to show the different hieghts between a 245/45 and a255/40. I picked the RE-01R

245/45/17 overall height = 25.7"
245/40/17 overall height = 24.7"
255/40/17 overall height = 25"

so yea there is a very big difference. About 3/4" taller which would cause a lot more rubbing You should really got down to a 40 series tire. Plus the taller tire makes it feel like your gears are longer/taller
