mm, i called them ricers too. i wasnt saying the OP was calling us ricers, but the general consensus is that oddly-colored wheels on a japanese car is pretty rice (in my dictionary atleast). im in the same boat as many of you, i still daily my mk4 gti

Purple should be pretty cool, if it's dark.

 

yea im planning on a darker purple. my name on vortex is Taxidub_3281. As for mods im planning on doing to the car I just plan on lowering it on coils, and maybe an oem or apr lip with a splitter.

I sold my mk3 to get the S.
If you think the mk4 side of vortex is bad, you should stroll over to the mk3 side.

I don't know about the purple center, but interested to see how the wheels turn out.

 

Welcome to the S2ki world first of all. I know you've been here for a few months, but.... welcome anyway.

I went from an S2000 to a MKIV GTI 24v VR6 that I boosted to the point of ~450hp. I had to come back to an S2000 though. It takes a special breed to really get serious about VWs.

I'm interested to see what the final results are on the wheels, should be interesting.

 

no need to call people idiots. i was just saying that in my opinion, purple wheels is pretty ricey. just because i drive a honda now doesn't make things easier on the eyes for me. i was always on vwvortex too, years ago, and yes, we would label all that stuff as rice. still seems rice to me now, but hey, thats just my opinion, guess im not entitled to it.

im all for the OP doing what he wants, its his car his money, just letting him know that personally, its not my cup o' tea.
