I know...that's just crazy....How do you crash into a wall at such an open area?...Anyone have any details onto what actually happened?...That sucks man he had a very clean car...now he can use that 2.5ltr boxer engine as a cup holder....At least the drive and passenger were not killed...that's the most important things. Material items can be replaced...Lives cannot.

If you read the previous thread it explained what happened.

He was trailing another STi then the wheel well liner flew out of the front car. He was trying to avoid the liner and lost control at high speed. Is it his intension to hit the ONLY wall there? NO! Is it luck? Who knows....

All I can say is, **** always happens, as long as the person is ok.

sponsored?..... He is my co-worker. Jimmi lee from honda world downey. (fleet manager and former s2k owner). He swerved to miss a fender liner assuming it was a big part of a car, caught his tires in the dirt and lost control in the wrong spot at the right time. He was in a coma for a few days, now he is still in ICU on a breather. His face is as wrecked as the front of his car due to the open faced helmet and a seatbelt failure (stretched on impact, Schroth 4 into 3 points as I under stand. His girlfriend was in the passenger seat and is ok now. Jimmi has a ling road of surgury in front of him. go to the socal forum for updates....

sucks to hear that. hope he makes it through the surgeries. i was at willow a few weeks back and i never really noticed that wall. it is generally pretty safe and spinouts off course are less worrisome because of no walls.

I'm totally not trying to be an ***hole here, but this is exactly why i'm an advocate for keeping stock seatbelts, and stock steering wheels with airbags, unless you're building a dedicated track car or the event you're participating in requires a 4 point harness.
