I thought the French had something to do with all this naming stuff- since we used to own a bit of France at one time like Grande Bretagne - Big Brittany??

what is Ulster, does that = NI?

Big Brittany serves behind the bar at our local pub

Ulster was once a kingdom in northern Ireland. That's northern Ireland as in the north of the island of Ireland, not 'Northern Ireland'

Makes me wonder if there's any difficulty selling Scotch Tape in Scotland?

PWE, thanks for the lesson, you answered so many unasked questions in one fell swoop.

Well, my many trips to the U.S. have taught me that, even though we are the "Mother Country" and you celebrate our arrival every November (and our demise every July), most of you guys have absolutely no idea as to who we really are and how our quaint little island operation works over here.

So, as I am a veritable mine of useless information, and I had f*ck all else to do at midnight that night I thought you might like to brought up to speed
