Default opinions on hoods

Ok...here is a pic of my S as it looks right now:

A few people have said 'Get a lip' but I haven't because I think it'd get shredded in Austin (my front bumper certainly has some scrapes) so I am thinking about getting a hood for my Berlina...

Things I Like:

TS $1600
Mugen $2500
Js original and new -
Veilside - $660 + shipping
Cwest - 858-$1k

Things I don't like:

Amuse
VIS CF

I'd like a vented hood, likely authentic and I want to keep cost at no more than $1500. Mugen is really way too expensive as is the new Js authentic.

What do you guys think would flow best with what I currently have? I like the mugen and Js Type V but they are just way too pricey. I've also seen the veilside on a berlina S and it looked clean, however I hear the fitment is terrible; is this true?

Pics of Berlina's with any of these hoods painted berlina would also help since I plan to have it painted.

Thanks!

Oh i also like the TS Front bumper...do you think it'd flow well?

i think the best bet would be the new J's CFRP/FRP hood...u can get it for about $1350 although its not all carbon...u can get the all carbon hood like the mugen but at a hefty price tag almost the same as mugen..if not that then the TS hood

"Get a lip"! I never had a problem with one in Austin when I had my S. Be reasonably careful while entering driveways, etc, and you'll be fine.

honestly, I think you should skip the hood and go for a lip. It will balance out the look of your car especially with that rear wing you have on.

But if you must get a hood, I'd suggest buying the Mugen hood...it'll match your Mugen wing...

a oem lip wont crack unless you hit it pretty damn hard, so maybe a oem lip is not bad? as long as it's not fiberglass. Just be more careful of a longer front if you get a lip. I like the amuse so my advice is no good here

I drove my car in Austin, which is dropped with a VeilSide version1 lip, and didn't have any problems.
I agree with the other folks that you need a lip much more than a hood. Your car will look very "thrown together" having a wing, rims and hood but no lip.

Good points all - I figured the lip question would come up so what lip do you think would go well? Like I said I was eyeing the TS front bumper, GP Sports front bumper, Js lip, Veilside V1 among others...
