Default Our S2k gets beat by a Civic type R

Edmunds insideline page

I don't know whether to be upset or not. I mean, you could say it was driver skill, or the track favored the civic. It just seemed extremely composed where the S seemed unstable. Granted, tuned an S2k's handling gets better and the Civic's is prob as close as its gonna get to perfection. See the video and tell me what you guys think.

its sad to say, but Honda is much more involved in the R program then they ever where with the s2k. the R's get BREMBOs, RECAROS, optional NAvi, awesome rubber, cutting edge engine tech. the s2k gets none of that. its sad to say, but the s2k is on death row, while younger FWD products eat at the big kids table.

Sorry, swap tires and - most of all - drivers and it'll show that the R is NOT on the same level as the S2K. Nice video on the other hand

ito is not as aggressive as a driver as tsuchiya. if it was wakisaka driving the S it would be a totally different story.

how about put tsuchiya in the S and ito in the civic and see who wins...

i agree with you guys. even though the technology is older i think that the S could have out performed the Civic R if the driver wasnt so worried.

Ha... it's funny that you call Daisuke Ito a bad driver.

The stock AP2 is not going to handle as well as the Arta NSX he used to drive in Super GT, but the Seeker Civic R has better tires on that video.

HP & TQ from engine doesn't really count for much on track. Plus the new R is only 20HP and less than 10TQ down compare to the old S.

I wonder when are they going to race the S2000 Type-S (CR here) with the Civic R. But it is Best Motoring... sometime they have to promote the new car. <<< This is my personal opinion.

The real sad thing is that we don't get any "R" in the US.

they should have given each car it's own run for the best lap time with Tsuchiya driving both and then compared times.
