Ever think about making a tutorial on how to do this?
good luck with that, people this good don't share their secrets usually. Same way with photography. Just the nature of the business. Most photographers won't tell you their post production methods and most people won't tell you exactly how they do things like this, or its so advanced there isn't an easy tutorial method.

There are tutorials about photoshop rendering written by people much better than I am at doing it, and explaining it. If you go to www.cardesignnews.com, there are quite a few step by step tutorials to show you the basic methods. There is also a book called "How to Design Cars Like a Pro" that is very helpful and is readily available.
I_heart_my_db8 also put up a good one a couple of weeks ago in the gallery that is very similar to the way that I work. The main difference is that he used more freehand airbrushing, which is the way I do at work because it is faster and looser, and for these I used more paths. Pathing it all out is also very time consuming, but having a reference to map out reflections speeds it up a lot.

I did a rendering for Sarek and thought I would share. I did a little exaggeration on wheel size, windshield height, etc. for dramatic effect. Let me know what you think.

I finally got my wheels back! check them out:
