Pic Request: Mugen GP Wheels
Honestly guys the Atech Final Speeds and WedSports SA90s look just as nice or nicer than these. Infact they look the same IMO for a lot less. Mugen wheels have never had the look I have liked over the past 15 years. They also sell for way to much when they are no where even near the asking price. Just my opinion. These wont work with a BBK either.

one: looks are subjective, two: cast wheels suck, three: Im getting the GPs at a killer price.
#1) These dont look that great and are way to common looking for me
. I can agree with the Subjective part. Take a look at Hyper Rev Vol 2 for the NSX. $1000 cheaper my friend and they look identicle.
Please dont tell us your buying them just because they say Mugen on them..
It makes perfect sense to buy the cheaper SAME LOOKING WHEELS and buy a set of coilovers for daily driving. I can tell you first hand that a wheel thats cast will hold up for years and by the time you change your wheels it will be fine. Same can be said for forged wheels.
Tracking them on a weekly basis then yeah I would invest in some forged wheels. #2) Cast wheels dont always suck. Something you will learn as you get older and more aware of wheels. IE Enkei, Advan, etc...
#3) Killer price? Under $1900 for all 4? Then yeah, I will agree with that.

I am not here to debate anything. The one thing Mugen has not shined in over the past decade is wheels. M7s, MF10s, and these new ones just dont cut it. For the average Joe, yeah.

After buying a few aftermarket items from other manufacturers and then buying some mugen items, it is great to have things made specifically for the S2000 that fit like OEM. A big part of it is taste, but fit and finish is alaways a priority and with Mugen one can buy with peace of mind on fit and finish and quality of the product.
Plus King is a top notch business and one can buy from them without worry.

However, you are right, the style is a simple style, not a fancy or particularly unique style, but that is one of the reasons I like them . . . they are a bit understated, especially in gunmetal, and not "bling bling" wheels.
As a result, unlike the MF10, I doubt any one would buy a GP forged gunmetal wheel merely because it is has a Mugen center cap. Such an understated, "plain jane" wheel is not immediately identified as being a Mugen wheel.
I bought them because I liked how they looked, I knew Mugen quality and fitment from the Mugen exhaust I already had, and the place I bought them from is a top notch supplier (unlike other places from which I have bought they did not take any money from me until the wheels were instock and shipped to me. I recently had another supplier charge my credit card, tell me the part would be in 2-3 months and then after over 3 months, I had to contact them and THEN they told me the part was not even available anymore, and then they said "I guess we will refund your oney and I'll see if we have to charge you a restocking fee"!).
To each their own!
[QUOTE=karwath,Aug 20 2006, 08:06 AM] I have seen some similar wheels with six spokes, but not seven (for some reason I like 5 and 7 spoke wheels rather than even numbered spoke wheels), and the offsets on the others were not as close to OEM as what I wanted.
Another reason why I am buying them is because of Mugen's resale value. There is a guy who cant GIVE AWAY his weds on the sale page. He wants to trade stock wheels with $350 cash and no one is will as of yet.
Mugen is also great because they are tailored to the specific car as opposed to you looking through an array of wheel sizes to see which ones "fit the best".
And $1900 for the set? not that low, but pretty close!
