Pics Before And After Wreck
The insurance company paid for the retail price of a stock hood, plus labor and paint, which on the cf hood there is none, so essentially they paid for the hood. They just sent me a check and I bought all the parts myself, including the stock parts at a discounted price.
The wreck occurred when I was going around a bend full out in third gear (est 85 mph) when a van popped out from around the bend who was going slow in the inside lane and began moving to the outside. I lifted off the throttle to quickly around the turn and the car whipped around. Tried to save it but couldn't. Did about three turns until I 'grazed' the front bumper against the guard rail. Luckily, no frame damage. I will say, the s2k seems to be a very safe car because we hardly felt anything when I hit the guard rail. It felt like a speed bump. Those energy absorbers must really work!
