Here's a before (Honda Ti) and after (Civic Type R) pic of my knobs. The new knob sits perfectly straight without the locking nut, which reduced the throws by a significant amount. Based on HTG's post about the CR knob, I would estimate 14 mm + the height of the locking nut.

It is a bit lighter than the Ti knob, so the shifts require more effort. But I could get used to it. The shifts feel very direct, which may border on "notchy" for some.

Well, you could buy a cool golf club driver sock and put that on it while your not driving and top is down in the sun.

Here's mine...Purchased from Rick's...years ago. Voodoo in pearl spun Aluminum, W/S2000 logo. Can no longer be purchased, due to Honda infringments.
