I'm not a racer nor have I felt every shift knob in the world. But I really like the OEM leather knob. What is the reason most of you dislike it so?

The leather was good quality and it's a good grip. I used to have a "type r" knob on my old civic (I know, shut up) and when my hands got sweaty from the heat it used to slip a little. with the grip on the leather knob I never slip.

Also, how do you grip your knobs when driving normal and rancing?

Serious question though.

Who can countersink an OEM knob, and how much is it?

I think most people change the shift knob to:

1. Lower it by using a countersunk knob; changing the feel.
2. Add mass, changing the feel.
3. Just look different.

I agree the OEM knob is pretty good. I'm used to holding the shiftknob in more of a pistol grip fashion instead of palming it, so the stock knob suits me OK.

Is that skunk 2 knob a countersunk knob? I wanted to countersink the stock Ti knob but I don't see that happening. It looks like it meets the boot unlike the stock knob?
