Yeah, I know what you mean. I went ahead and spent the extra $$ on my Vortech SC last month predicting that I would buy a "bargain" this month. At least that's what I told my wife.
(Me= Wife = )

Turbovtk: If the sun is out tomorrow I will take a few more pics.

sky-chicken,

that does not seem normal to me. I believe this is simply a production error... The CF fabric was not aligned well before the laminate process, or had already an error.

That does not mean that the hood is bad therefore, but it was not as carefully manufactured as the others.

That is my opinion

Update on my hood:

Jeff called today and apologized for the inconvenience and he told me that he replace the hood right away.
I have to say that the CF hood looks very very nice and I will have one for sure. One S2K fellow stopped by and checked out the hood and now he is going to replace his JR CF hood with this one.
It is a great deal and the fitting is perfect.

You mean J's Racing? Replace a Real J's Racing with a Fake Amuse? Sorry but that doesn't make a lot of sense. The difference just isn't that drastic to go through the hassle IMO. Also J's is real JDM.

Haha, that was me. I really wasn't going to sell my hood for it . I seen sky-chicken's hood last night and I admit it was worth it for its price, but sell my J's for a "knock-off" . . . no thank you . I noticed that there are very significant differences between JDM hoods and other hoods . . .so to the people with the real JDM CF hoods, you really need not worry about the Amuse/Top Secret style CF hoods.

I like the Amuse "style" much better and there is a huge difference between both hoods.
1) The Amuse "style" airvent goes all the way up and makes at not look like "added to the hood".
2) The CF structure is awesome large and you can see it is CF from far away (flipside is that you see also when the structure is not perfect). I had a hard time to notice the CF structure on S2SaV's hood at night.

But this is my personal taste and nobody has to agree
It is your own personal taste but you do know that the tighter the weave the better the quality, the higher the cost. So while your statement in #2 sounds cool to you, anybody who knows anything about CF is laughing their heads off right now. Sorry but it goes all the way up and it doesn't look like it was added to the hood? Um, so you're saying something that is bigger and sticks out more looks more hidden. Hey I like the real Amuse hood mainly because it saves the weight and doesn't have the bump in the middle as the J's. Enjoy your hood, you don't need to justify your purchase to me.

sky_chicken, as long as you like the hood, its all good

but I have to say that Trading an anthetic J's hood for a fake Amuse style doesnt sound right to me at all...well if you really like the amuse style, just ignore this.

HAHA! Seriously, trade J's READ DEAL jdm cf hood for a Amuse style cf hood??? I don't think so. I had the J's cf hood & the cf weave's much better then this one (Based on the pics everyones been posting). I'll admit, for the price it can't be beat. Oh yeah, for all those that buy the gb cf hoods, please don't try to say it's a real Amuse hood and/or a Top Secret hood. Those guys make me want to do this: on top of their hoods.
