Then a portable DVD player or PSP makes more sense. I am not trying to tell people how to spend their money though. It is just my opinion that Game console/movie player makes little sense in cars (particularly sports car) other than the bling factor. In a minivan full of kids, I can understand.

ps. Why did you write like you haven't heard from me in months? We just chat on MSN couple days ago...

Sorry, but I don't understand it at all.

Even on a show car, I don't see how a video game system enhances the look or performance of the car. Maybe for a back seat where kids might be sitting, but I think it's completely out of place in an S2K.

I also agree with turbo pwr, the flow is poor and the overall look is too cluttered.

I think it would be better if you could conceal the PS (pop-up style) so that part of the dash would look stock, and maybe color match the monitor housing to the dash, so it doesn't stand out so much.

I know it's your car, and the only thing that's really important is that you like it.

lose all the silver stuff. even the 2004 radio door could be chucked. go back to black. had you put the PS2 elsewhere, the setup would be much cleaner. the flow of the dash is really broken by that silver and black that the PS2 and it's surround add.

i do commend you on your bravery of doing such a huge install, and also taking the criticism of everyone. in the end, if you truly like it enough, it doesn't matter what other people think, right?

There are some good suggestions in this thread and then there's the rest of them.

Personally, I have absolutely nothing against having a monitor installed as you have done. But it's main purpose should be for navigation; PS2 second.

The location of the PS2 is great for accessibilty but at great expense. I know the area behind your monitor is open. I wonder if something could have been done(to be read: afforded ) to allow it to be installed directly above the monitor in a fashion so described by kodakan- pop-up stealth-like. I can't measure anything as my car is still suffering "Humpty-Dumpty" syndrome and they haven't put her back together yet. Props for the controller plug-ins. I've actually gone wireless on mine, but doing so with the location of yours might be difficult- dunno.

Some folks are on target with the flow of the cabin. It seems a bit more difficult for a red cabin to pull it off. If you're interested, here's what I'd do at a minimum:

Go ahead and paint the far passenger vent the same color as the bezel and dash cluster. Replace the '04 radio door with the stock red one. This'll help keep the silver in a straight line across your dash. Maybe you can wrap red matching vinyl around the PS2 bezel and see if Decalgirl.com can come up with a skin to match.

These things you could do without having to redo too much. These are only my suggestions. I also know that if you backed away from the car for the picture to include some of the silver from the exterior of your car, that might help tie the interior/exterior together.

Edited/added: After looking at it again, I'd be inclined to also suggest using the black in the door panels as your contrast color. Carry that color, black, throughout your work- monitor bezel, dash cluster, etc. But again, replacing the stock radio door is suggested. Then again, that might clash with the exterior. I'm just throwing stuff out.

Game console belongs at home or RV where you can play it on a nice big screen. Playing games - and watching DVD, for that matter - on a small screen only spoils it.

Nice install, but it is really out of place in an S.

when i was younger, i had a DVD player in my Type R...I used it less than 10 times in 3 years and that was it.
