Default .png to .jpg ?

I love saving pics from this site for my viewing off line.

I have trouble with pics saved on this site. It seems like the site converts the pics to .png format from whatever format they were in. My apps don't understand how to read .png .

Am I missing something?

I'll delete this thread after someone answers or I figure it out.

Any of the photo editing packages, from the least expensive to photoshop pro, should be able to open a .png file. If it doesn't open automaticaly when clicking on the file, open the application then open the file from the application.

Once the image is opened, you should be able to save it in any format you like...

Note that s2ki does some pretty heavy compression to reduce bancwidth requirements. Your saved pictures will not be of the highest quality, especially if they have gone through a few cycles of compression, like being saved as a compressed jpg, then uploaded to s2ki.

Thanks.
It turns out that I couldn't open the .png format with Kodak Imaging. I tried Microsoft Image Composer, after your pointer, and it worked fine.

All you have to do is this:
When you right click on the picture and click save as, under the file name box, add a .jpg at the end of the file name. This will save the picture as a jpeg.
