there's two way to do this:
you can rigid mount the lip, but if you scrape it, the paint will crack because of the pressure
or you can mount the lip with the frontal area area loose, that way the lip will move if you ran into bumps and dip, no paint cracks, the downside is that there will be a slightly larger gap.
I personally don't mind for gap, it's a knock off and it shouldn't be perfect. For a show car finish, get oem, you can't beat the fitment. as for teh comment about oem paint: you get what you pay for, you can get much higher quality paint job done than oem finish, trust me, i does that at work

Also, like the other guy said a few posts above, after paint and the lip, you really arn't saving that much money unless you can great deal for the paintjob.
i have a ebay lip. ther is the small gaps but nothing major. most people dont notice it. but the thing that annoys me is the part that flairs up on both sides dosent sit flush with the the front bumper. i got to get some tape or something in ther eso it will get flush with the front bumper.

^ I normally hate Spa but yours looks sweet! Too bad the painter didn't get the mixture right. Why didn't you refuse payment and have him try again?

Please post some closeups of your ebay lips, especially these sections here:

The gap was a no go for me.

I'm thinking about giving it to the guy that repainted the front end of my evo to do. he blended the fenders, my paint on the cf hood, and my ix front bumper all for 400 bucks
I'll let him pay with it to get it to fit.
