I say just make a custom headlight shaped to your liking.

Make the buckets out of fiberglass; make and use brackets so that you can retain as many of the OEM mounting spots as possible.

Then find a projector style off a current model car that fits in your bucket. Also mix and match colored LEDs to be wired in for use as parking lights, turn indicators, etc.

My vote for bolt in projectors of choice would go to the Q45 projectors.

this guy spent all his money to mod the car with the headlights, wheels, sideskirts, hood, tail, airscoop, etc... but didn't bother to lower his car?! No offense, but it even looks higher than OEM

 

Also, may I suggest Lotus elise headlights?
