Props for an excellent comping job but it seems you fell into your own trap by using too many filters/adjustments on it afterwards! Image is waaay oversaturated IMHO! Excellent job though considering the quality of the original image!





IMO:

80% of a great image is just being there.

20% is having a decent camera, good ambient light and putting just a little effort into composing the shot (think, move around a bit , then point then click).

The extra 5% comes from a little tweaking in photoshop.

The original image was a pain to work with otherwise it wouldn't be like that, I never used any filters only adjustments. That one was 80% photoshop 20% image.

 

Not to mention I didn't take the photo.

 

The worst part of my job is trying to make quality design visuals out of the low res images supplied by some clients. Even worse is when they're scanned from magazines and I have to work with moire and really blurred material!

No dis intended BTW, I think you did the best job with it that anyone could do!

 

working with scanned images from magazines is teh sux becaues of the 4 color process its already been through and how the scanner picks it up.. I feel your pain
