Ha ha ha ha a slammed S2000 competing in Tarmac Rally without asphalt tires, but on street tires? I have never seen such . . . not even on the S2000 fiesta. How is this functional on a road car (daily driver)? Don't get defensive; just explain to me how this can be functional in everyday driving? I don't even understand why you would need this to light up the cones in auto-x and I compete in SM2?
Also, I work at a resort. I typically get off around midnight to 2am. My commute is 35 miles on a somewhat twisty back country road. They get used every night on my way home. Just last week, I was able to spot a deer in time to avoid a collision with the lights on. Had I just had my low beams or even high beams on, I'm not sure the outcome would have been the same.
Sometimes, I get bored at night and like to go for a drive on my favorite roads. They come in handy then too.
I'm not much for aesthetics. I like to saying that I'm not an automotive enthusiast, rather, I'm a driving enthusiast. I find no other explanation on how I logged 32k miles last year as a full time student and working full time. I ran through three sets of front tires and four sets of rear tires last year alone. I just drive. It's what I do. My car gets used.
Oh, and your reference to Tarmac Rally Cars being on street tires - What, you expect them to run slicks? Have you ever driven on slicks? Ever messed around with even a little bit of gravel on slicks? Yeah, for a tarmac rally, you're not going to be running slicks. Sorry buddy.

Try driving a real mountain road at night. The OEM high beams are abysmal.
