Rays wheel refinishing....
So I decided to keep the Gram Lights 57c's that have been sitting in my garage forever, but I absolutely hated the look of the 17x8.5 pair that i had. So I purchased another full set from an MR2 owner in CA.
I wasn't to fond of the crappy bronze color that Rays produced these in. I don't know why in the world they wouldn't use the same process as the Volk line. Anyways since the the set that I bought from CA were spray painted, I decided to strip them all and refinish them.
I found a nice surprise underneath all of the hate. Apparently Rays did use the same process as the volk line in that it has a polished machine lip under its powder coat.
specs
17x9.5 +38 front
17x9.5 +22 rear
stock widened body.
I will update as progress continues on these wheels. The plan is to finish them in the same fashion as Volk anodized lip that has matching powder coated faces.
