Redline Time Attack - Berk Technology Videos Up!
Berk Technology S2000 and 135i videos are up!!!
These two cars placed 4th and 5th, respectively, in S-RWD Class. The Berk S2K was ONLY 0.042 seconds behind 3rd place (a 300hp+ supercharged S2K) and the 135i was 0.391 behind 4th, which means the field was very competitive.
Both drivers, Charles Ng (MiataCharles_HK) and Jeff Tyler (S2Kretard) drove their asses off and makes for some very exciting video.

Berk Technology had a really successful race weekend! Since this was going to be the last Redline Time Attack on the west coast until September we decided to bring out the full arsenal of the Berk cars. One last hurrah!!
We brought out 3 of our marquee platforms, Honda S2000, Toyota MR2 Turbo, and BMW 135i, all packed with go fast bits from Berk Technology and the driving talent of of the Berk team.
1st place street RWD, 3 cars, 3 top 5 finishes! Woohoo!

There were a lot of fast S2000's at the event! If it wasn't for the Berk Technology MR2 Turbo the S2000's would have swept this event. I'm not sure if I should be happy or upset at ourselves.

These cars are prepped with just a few well placed mods that any weekend warrior can purchase off the shelf and installing in their own garage. Just add some driver skill!
The first car.
1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo - Driver: Jeremy Croiset - 1:32.399
1st Place Street RWD

First time out in this car and zero aero mods! Suspension mods are limited to KW V3 coilovers and ST sway bars. The rest of it happens with the Berk Technology GT3076R turbo kit, built stroker motor, and Berk custom trunk mount IC & custom Berk single exhaust w/ cat.

Next we have:
2004 Honda S2000 - Driver: Charles Ng - 1:33.850
4th Place Street RWD

Power Mods:
Berk Technology HPC coated header
Berk Technology 70mm exhaust w/ muffler delete
Berk Technology 70mm HFC
Spoon air scoop
Suspension/Aero/Tires:
Dunlop Direzza Star Spec 255/40/17
Enkei RPF1
KW Variant 3 Coilovers
FX Motorsports Development Springs
APR Front Splitter
Voltex Wing
Carbonetic LSD
This is a true daily driver that sees LA traffic, errant shopping carts, pot holes, and speed bumps on a daily basis! Shrink the wing by 2" and the car is 100% legal for the stock class. Even though we were bested by the Evasive & DSport S2000, Charles drove the Berk S2000 just about as fast as it could have gone with the limited mods.
Changing the tires on Saturday's practice. A fresh set of Dunlop Star Specs were run for race day.

Next up is our euro car:
2008 BMW 135i - Driver: Jeff Tyler - 1:34.241
5th Place - Street RWD

Mods:
Berk Technology 3" downpipes
Berk Technology Exhaust system
KW Variant 3 coilovers
Enkei NT03 using a Corvette fitment
Dunlop Direzza Star Specs
V Fiber Front air dam & side skirts
HP Autowerks LSD & Final Drive
No aero!

We broke the 135i record at this track by over 3 seconds! For a heavy 3300lb+ car we're less than and are running faster than the BMWCCA guys on R comps. The only benchmark we have for our performance for this event is a turbocharged widebody E46 M3 that ran in the modified class. They were running 1:38.438. Last year another 135i ran at this track for the SuperLap Battle with a 1:37.283. So do I think we did well? Hell yes!
Final Results for the street RWD class:
1st Place - Berk Technology - Toyota MR2 Turbo - Jeremy Croiset
2nd Place - Evasive - Honda S2000 - Rob Walker
3rd Place - DSport - Honda S2000 - Robert Choo
4th Place - Berk Technology - Honda S2000 - Charles Ng
5th Place - Berk Technology - BMW 135i - Jeff Tyler
Some noteables from the event. The Berk S2000 and Evasive S2000 were the only cars in the top 5 that were NA, the rest were forced induction. This track heavily favors the high horsepower cars and the Berk S2000 has got to be the lowest HP car, least modded car, and lowest cost car to replicate within this group. We're down about 250hp from the MR2 and down about 100hp from the D-Sport S2000. Not to mention that the Berk S2000 would be the lowest cost car to replicate! Budget racing FTW!

FX Motorsports Development NSX driven by Billy set a new track record. 1:18.555! These guys are getting faster and faster!
1st Place Unlimited

The C-West S2000 was looking fast as always. I've never seen a team tear down an S2000 as fast as these guys.
2nd Place Unlimited

Fontana Nissan looks to be working the bugs out of their V8 powered 350Z. They definitely get the award for the cleanest and nicest hauler setup ever. They even have flower pots set up in their eating area.

A Berk Technology sponsored 370Z from DoubleDown Motorsports. This is a near stock car that easily fits into the stock class rules. Stock header, stock exhaust, stock seats, stock diff, etc. not even race pads! Their only engine mods are Berk HFC's, JWT Intake! Suspension mods by BC Racing & SPL parts. Even with a stock class car running in street class they ran a quick 1:37.286.

Here's the Berk S2000 & Evasive S2000 lined up next to each other in the hot pits. Evasive added some sick looking aero mods on the rear of their S2000. Damn, the Berk car could use some of those mods!
Congrats you guys! We'll see you out there next time!

Here's Robert Choo's SC'ed S2000. Word on the street was the SC kit was just installed 2 days ago. Darn good start to the cars first time out!

Jim Tway's S2000 competing in street RWD. The hardtop we wish we could all afford. PS - that is not smoke. It's the stuff they put on the track to clean up/soak up oil spills.

We'll see you guys next time!

A big thank you goes out to our sponsors. Without the support of these manufacturers none of us would be racing!
