Yeah, it took a little to convince the wife to let me spend the money but it paid for itself inside of a year.
It goes up about 60 inches and makes almost everything go twice as fast.
damn fullthrottle...you know we ALL want that!!
luder94....what do you think about the musclegloss.com one listed above?
man, i didn't know the motomat would cost that much. I have a 2 car garage...is your's bigger than that luder94? i estimated around $500 for the garage, but that was just a quick guess. i'm not sure...if your's is a 2 car garage and you estimate 1k, then i'd better actually go out and do some serious calculations b/c i'm really off!
if it's anywhere close to 1k, then that's not for me!!!! hahaha
the tile idea is a good one. when i was at home depot, i saw those tiles (sorta fake i guess) and they looked easy to install and clean (oil, etc). i think the tiles were like a dollar a piece. the price ranged from .50c to $2, depending on pattern, etc. we're been looking into that too. i want it to look nice, be easy to clean up and relatively inexpensive. let me know if you guys see anything else checking out! thanks!

Hobbs,
I would need 20 boxes of tiles (with 15 square feet worth of tiles in each box) to cover my parking area o fthe garage floor. Then I would need about another two or three boxes to do the 3.5 foot wide step area that sits in front of the parking space area.
It comes to over $1000.
MuscleGloss. Looks good, but doesn't have the colors that I'd like. Again, it seems too labor intensive that I'm looking for.
I did get out to ColorTile and Home Depot last night thought. I found some very interesting solutions. ColorTile has many different products for this, however, I was informed by a very cool sales guy that an easy solution would be to use the cheapest linoleum tile that can be laid with a sticky back. Then find a rubberized spray on, or roll on. Cover the linoleum with the "rubber" in a can.
I went to Home Depot after that, they also had some solutions. The sales guy tried to talk me into a Rust-O-Leum package. ABut then admitted to me that the best practical solution is to lay linoleum tile and then cover it with "rubber-goo". The goo comes in many different colors and is easy to wipe clean once it sets. He showed me the big canisters of the stuff...it wasn't that expensive.
From my calculations, my garage would cost me less than $200 to finish, and with half the effort of the "packaged" epoxy flooring solutions.
I will try to find out more about this and will post pics and everything I find.

If you guys are interested in floor materials, try looking into epoxy paint. It usually comes in a gray finish (maybe other colors too) and I don't think it is terribly expensive. It does have one downfall to it: it gets very slippery when wet. This can be remedied by adding sand to the mixture if you want, but that doesn't make for a smooth surface anymore. Sorry I can't offer any more info, but I know that we had this on the floor of the garage in my old house.
No mine is white, the car with the brakes is a 2002 silver.
The lift is real though. In about 4 months I will be moving into my new garage, I mean house. Ill post up some more pics to make you all jealous. The house has a two car garage attached and there is a 30ft.X30ft. detached shop behind the house that will house my lift and tools for my various projects.

I've got a semi-related garage oriented question: How much did/would you let your garage situation affect your vehicle purchase? For example, I would really like to get an S in the next year, but I live in an apt. building where I have outdoor parking only. It is very close-quartered (ie small spaces with the cars very close to each other). My space is covered, but the tail end of my celica sticks out past the cover, so I imagine the S would as well. Would you let it affect your buying decision or would you get the car you really want and just deal?
