I had this done on my old AP1. A week later I had it put back on. I couldn't stand the raspy note.

can you hear all the rasp inside the car?

 

Wouldn't the rasp/specific exhaust note be amplified since the microphone is primarily recording just the exhaust sound? A car's intake/motor has an influence on overall sound as well.
