So we did a little footage on the R8 yesterday and wanted to share with you guys.. My only complaint is it doesnt sound super car enough..My driving impressions:





Looks: 10/10 (Real neck breaker)
Performance: 9/10 (Real fast on highway)
Transmission: 8/10 (Have the Autronic, great shifts, but in automatic mode its really jerky)
Handling: 10/10

I must agree. It doesnt sound exotic enogh. Then again that can be fixed with new exhaust.

Yes.

take a new f430, 355, or a 360 into account. as long as it revs somewhat high.

 

You ever hear an F40 from a dig or even at WOT?

 

Ferrari uses a flat-plane crankshaft. I don't know about the Audi, but if it has a cross-plane crankshaft like most V8's do, it'll have the deep, "burbling" sound that most V8's do. Therefore, tune the exhaust however your heart desires, the physics of it are that it will never shriek like an F430.
