Exactly what is the purpose of HDR, im like looking at all these photos and some of them looks really cool and other looks like paintings? What makes a HDR photo a good one? or a bad one?

The idea behind High Dynamic Range is to simulate how your human eyes automatically compensate for bright and dark spots when you look at something. Cameras cannot, and must change their settings to get all the different colors with darks and lights. Combineing these settings correctly correctly will result in a natural picture that might strike you as "impossible" but "practical", because you are used to normal photos where the camera wasn't as good as you see things in real life with your squishy bits.

Goofy or overly saturated colors are just art
