i had 6.5 before and when i was making the 8 box but 10 is way too big. no rattles cause the box is very tight in there but drops in with the console "wrapped" around it.

head unit is sony cdx-gt630oui. kicker ks6.5 components in doors and roll hoops but more highs r coming from the fronts. 70f/30r. im working on getting the 06 hoops so i can place 4 tweets in hoops and maybe 2 6.5 components or the 6.5 kicker slim subs in hoops sealed to go along with the back massage the 8 is giving.

ive never really used the compartment other than to store the owners manuals but who need to travel with that all the time? haha! this is what i got rid of.

the compartment does have dynomat but i left some spots. it was enuf 4 the 6.5 but the 8 is a whole different thing. ill put more on. the visor doesnt vibrate because its a tight fit. 8 is the biggest i can get in there. if anything ill dynomat the top also.

the deeper bass it does take it more than the 6.5 and i blew 2 6.5's before so that was not tuf like the 8. i am gona mayb re-do the box so that it'll use more room in there.

this is the 6.5. the 8 is just a tad taller. (by the way on this pic it shows that the crossmember was modded but the 6.5 and 8 both rest on top of that indent so the cutting was done way in the beginning of my idea but never needed) i didnt have to cut but just in case i did

That is freakin excellent! If you have to give up something it might as be that space. The rattling could be an issue but it's very fixable. Thanks for sharing.

actually not much rattling. top down u still cant see whats inside because i still have the cover that goes in back between the hoops covering it. i only used the space for wheel lock(now in trunk) and the owners manuals(now at home)

unit is very secure and it sits very flush. the console covers/holds whole unit down. nothing sticking out. cover comes in from (jsenclosure) and ill just poke holes for the bass. no round grille anymore. maybe cover holes with somethin in case i get caught in rain top down. haha! had to do this because my console was on/off constantly!
