The S didn't launch at all and that's why the M3 pulled so hard right off the bat. S has no torque to match the M's from a stop without launching the shit out of it.
Drivers being equal, an E36 M3 (stock S50 or S52) and an S2K (AP1 or AP2) can go either way.
Neither car, however, was designed for the stoplight GT.
