Spent a year hedge-hawing over various wings for my S2000 but after seeing this wing in APR's catalog, I knew I had finally found something I could live with. I special ordered the end plates (carbon fiber) but all else is stock. It's labeled as APR's mini-drag wing. My .02, it's just high enough to look aggressive without appearing downright silly. Garnered about 10 opinions since putting it on yesterday and all but one approved. Most said, "the car looks much more aggressive now" which is what I wanted. File this away under wings for S2000's. Good for the archives I suppose. Still haven't put the newbie black wheels on yet and I'm waiting on the Craft Square carbon fiber mirrors.
Well it's clearly a matter of personal taste, and it's your car to mod as you please, but god I think that's hideous. The S has such great lines stock I don't understand why some feel the need to alter/ruin them. And that Mugen 3 pc., man it makes the back of the car look like a Japanese soup spoon. Not my thing.
Anyway, as I said it's your car and if you like it that's what counts.
John, you just provided a perfect example of choice. To me, the Mugen is the least attractive of the Japanese tuner wings but as long as we both love what we have, that's all that matters. Some despise the Veilside stuff but their wing I tend to favor. Not so much their kits though. On another note, I could never drive your car. That spoon banner would have me cocking my head outside of the window to see a stop light! How the heck do you see the lights? I'm 6-4, so that doesn't help.
The cars were removed because they were a distraction to the photo, though the watercolor affect probably made it worse. BWHAHAHA
The anti-wing comments don't bother me one bit. Remember, I've got a carbon fiber wheel with no air bag so it's obvious I march to my own drum. It's predictable though on that account. There is no other mod that provides such polarity, not even wheel choices than a "check out my new wing" thread. I'm in the "wing" minority along with a few others. I feel the car looks better with the RIGHT wing than with none at all. The stock Honda aftermarket wing (to me) is like adding a grain of sand to a beach (IOW, no significant visual change) and the really tall wings look silly. I've always felt despite my own misgivings about other owner's mods, a national meet would surely be less interesting if we all had the same stock S2000's lined up in a parking lot. I would never put 19's on my car but love the look...I wouldn't carbon fiber my trunk but would love to see one up close. That's why pics of S2000 gatherings in Japan are so much more interesting to view than the atypical S2000 meet here in the US. Anyone else agree?
its not really that bad with the banner. i'm 6'0 and its not bad at all because you sit very low in our cars. i can see the road really well. some street lights are harder to see but whatever i enjoy it.
