Saw 2008's - Minor changes
I would like HONDA to do the following when it comes to the S2000:
Hard top convertable
Better tyres to reduce aeroplaning
Improve the ambient noise inside of the car while driving
As far as the CR, to me it is money not well spent.

I don't think Brembo's are really necessary on the car. The OEM brakes are pretty decent, and the only reasonyou need to upgrade them is a power increase. TL-S has upgraded power (not much), but CR does not...
As far as spending time in the wind tunnel- didn't you read that the car is significantly quicker around the track? I am sure Honda spent ample R&D time and funds on testing and proving the new aero parts. It definitely is function and not fashion.

all im saying is that the design on the front and rear (aero equipment) could of been thought out much better at the disign level which requires more wind tunnel time. I dont mean that honda did not do their r&d. but if more time would of been spent on the drawing board the s2000 cr would have been a more agressive car. in my opinion i just think honda just needed something to compete with the new factory weekend racer equiped car like for example the nismo 350z.
BREMBO brakes would of been a great upgrade as yourself said that the cr is faster at the track (and really thats where you need that type of braking power).btw honda should of disign a much more attractive front lip and all that is not impossible to built when you have the capability honda has, without affecting the aerodinamic of the s2000. looks and performance also go hand in hand.

uggh they're ugly.
I'd rip that front lip off in ten seconds flat.. really REALLY not digging that interior either. The yellow stitching is nice, I like the shift knob and totally dig the center console "center piece" pattern - but the seat inserts..?!?!?..what the hell? That's just nasty. I can't help but think "once a little dust gets in there, those seats will be a high-maintenance nightmare to keep clean" also.
Otherwise, neat. I'd love to stuff the CR suspension into a non-factory-riced one.

The CR is growing on me a bit. I agree with most of you, the wing and front lip are ugly. But you have to look at the car as a whole package. I will definitely be test driving one, before I make any decision.
The hardtop is great for track that require a roll bar or hardtop, but the convertible would be nice, because I don't want to be caught in the rain on spirited drives.
The interior is alright, depending on the color of the car you are going to get. IMO, I think the yellow would look okay on a GPW, which I plan on getting if I get the CR.

i dont care for any of the appearance changes. the interior is awful. is it suede?
i hate the yellow.
i may diverge from the opinions of most, but i like the ap2 rims better than the CR-AP or the ap1, and i don't care for the big wing look. too much 2F2F style for me. i googled and found that its stiffer and 90 lbs lighter, and it includes a hardtop but no soft top. also, "Air conditioning and the sound system are jettisoned" (C&D)
i just got my "new" MY06 for $27,500 (granted, mine is a DD so my bias is pretty heavy) and am very happy i saved the money and didn't bother waiting. maybe the CR fulfills the purpose of being a devoted NA autocross car for those richer than i, but for the $34-39k--assuming they do command some premium--id rather void the warranty, get FI, and blow past the CRs WITH my A/C and my radio.

- Both of the base S2000's were Silverstone with the black/red interior. The seats on both cars were all red.
