Saw A Concept Exotic Car Today
I posted this in the local AZ section, thought I would share it with you guys.
I am driving along today when I see what looks to be a Lamborghini Gallardo pulling out of a hotel. Upon further review I noticed it is the concept Audi supercar that is being developed by Lamborghini and Audi. The car is about the size of the Gallardo and was outfitted with Gallardo wheels.
The car pulls out of the hotel and quickly pulls into a parking spot on the side of the street. When I got to a stop sign just a little down the road I quickly made a U-turn to chase the car. Well, at this point the guy driving floored it back into the little hotel parking lot. I get about a hundred feet behind the car and it speeds into a parking garage. I was thinking to myself, "damn I missed it". So I decided to go around the building to make a U-turn to go back out where I came in. At this point the car was visible again. I turned on the camera on my phone and shot some pictures. Lets just say the guys who were with the car were far less than amused when I was taking pictures and giving them the thumbs up.
Here are the pictures that I took with my 1.3MP camera on my phone. I know the quality sucks, it is hard taking pictures out the back window while driving.

Here are some more pictures and info on the car. Looks like it is no longer a concept but a test mule for its up and coming debut.

Due in 2007, this car will be powered by a 5.0 liter V10 engine, taking it from 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. Technically it could do 350 km/h without the speed limiter.
The 5.0 liter 90 degree V10 is similiar to the one found in the Audi S8, but it has been forced inducted with a twin turbo system. The turbocharged air up to a maximum 2.0 bar of boost is fed through dual intercooler mounted above the engine before entering the intake. 2 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves per cylinder means this is a 40 valve engine.
Power figures for this engine are 610hp and an amazing 745Nm of torque, available from 1750rpm all the way to 5500rpm. Can you imagine 745Nm of torque at 1750rpm?! The car is going to be an absolutely breathtaking drive! The engine is mounted in a mid-engine position, so weight distribution is about 40:60 for the front-rear axles.
I forgot to mention, this car is sooooooooooooo sick.

Yes they are indeed making it. Its in all the car rags. Supposedly to have a V10.
While I like having three pedals, it is cool technology nonetheless.
I always figured if they were testing a car this high end, they'd have a dedicated transport so it was never parked in public. Odd. Who'd have thunk someone at a hotel would have a camera!?!?
You should've asked them if it was a Pontiac or something...

The problem is you're completely wrong on the engine output. It won't come even close to 610HP and is unlikely to even touch 500. Latest rumours are that it'll be a detuned V10 from the gallardo putting out around 450. There is zero chance it'll have a power output greater than the gallardo nor even much chance it'll be that close. Afterall they wouldn't want to compromise gallardo sales. Without a major upgrade to the gallardo(which may come) you won't see dramatic power output.
