Default The slow formation of Jims2k

Just wanted a place to share/look at my progression over the next few months. I really want to try and keep the car as OEM looking as possible. Please excuse my iPhone/Insta pics, my D series has been heavily neglected lately.

The day I brought her home

Since my car was going to be at the body shop for a couple weeks, I went ahead and took this as an opportunity to have some of the imperfections caused by careless members at my apartment complex taken out.(My rear bumper was swiped by someone in my garage, and my passenger door was dinged badly.) I also had the holes for the honda badge filled before the painting process.

Shortly after having my car back on the road I purchased a set of the original Work CR KAI, in a staggered fitment. (17x9 +44, 17x8 +48 or 49? cant remember.) (These were discontinued already when I decided they were the ones I wanted, and I'm really OCD so I wanted these over the newer versions that replaced them.) I really wanted the car to remain almost as OEM looking as possible after leaving the Euro scene with my last car. (Too much flash and disfunctionality, which is not a word but you get it.) So I went ahead and had the bronze and white wheels I pieced together powder coated OEM Silver.

And this was the finished product. (OEM suspension, will be gone someday soon so dont even worry.)

Finally I can start to push funds towards my baby.

First thing I did was buy an Axial Flow SS, and a heavy Karcepts knob to replace the noisy CR knob. (Axial Flow 1.0 Members you know.) This is everything installed. Really came out well, looks almost OEM. Which is again my goal.

Second thing I did was have new Engine, Transmission, and Differential mounts installed. (Innovative 75a, 75a, 85a.)

At the same time I purchased an invidia test pipe with a supposed "built in CEL fix". (which is the honey comb looking piece in the picture.) CEL came on less than 10 minutes into the first test drive, and is still here today. So in this particular instance it did not work. I can always buy the extended mount for the o2 sensor later.

Most lips for this car look pretty damn awesome, but i really like the look of naked Ap2 front. Weird but whatever, so I picked up an "Ez-lip" of ebay. (Just a marked up HomeDepot garage/3m lip.)

Next to come, I have a set of Koni Yellows in my bedroom and some Neuspeed springs to go on at least untill I can afford some of the custom spring rate Ground Control sleeves.

Nice work. I'm fond of the OEM look as well. The stock S2000 is one of the most attractive cars on the road.

Saying that, can you please tell us more about your add-on lip?

I've got a '08 NFR that I have "inadvertently" drug the bottom of the bumper over a couple of curbs. I would have left it since you can't see it, but I recently scratched the bumper up when a piece of sheet metal ducting fell on the floor, bounced up and gashed the side of the bumper

So, I'm planning on taking the bumper off and having it repainted once I mothball the car for the winter, which is coming up soon.

After having the bumper repainted, I would like to protect the bottom of the bumper and your lip seems to be the ticket.

Any info on how you did this would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks all!

This is the link to the lip I bought chris. Very cheap and disposable. Just be patient and take your time applying it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-ACURA-...cbe145&vxp=mtr
