a small Austin get together
Day number two of ownership and I have already met up with a few of the Austin members. We met at the HEB at 2222/620 and headed out to drive Lime Creek Road but I had to take it easy since I am breaking mine in. Just broke the 100 mile barrier today.
Here is a link to my PhotoPoint page with some pics if you want to take a look. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?...8127&a=11629274
Looking forward to more get togethers.

Great looking group! I really need to get together with some other Austin people at some point and get my car out of the garage. I've never had either my S2000 or my del Sol on Lime Creek road, although I've traveled it many times in a City pickup truck on the way to the water plant. Every time I drive out there I think "I should bring one of MY cars out here some time", although it looks like typical Austin traffic - too many slow damn cars in front of you! I envy people that actually get to do more than stop and go in some other city.

Had a great time out there guys - just wish it went a little faster. I couldn't believe the two pony convertibles were being such a$$es. I hate to sound elitist, but it was a 'Sunday drive' for us all - we'd tail them and they'd swing their tails around trying to hold onto the corners.
We should definately let Chris take his Miata out next time - I'm sure he'd be a tough contender - he knows the road ooh so well - after all, as you guys already know, his mom lives on Lime Creek road (a quarter-mile up) - thus, its where he learned to drive.
Sorry that I missed your call Chris S - I'm sure there will be other opportunities. And same goes for you John David!
Next weekend, I'll be heading out to the small and very curvy road off of 620 and Marshall-Ford. If anyone is interested, let me know.

The pics look great, seeing all those S2K's on Bullick Hollow and LCR! Too bad about all the slow cars in the way. That's one nice thing about riding there on my R1...you can pass anything in the blink of an eye!
I did that same drive Sat. afternoon in my car, and Sunday morning on my bike. I can't believe it, but the S2000 has been so much fun, more so than any car I've ever driven and almost comparable to my motorcycle, that I'm selling my R1 and giving up street riding after it's gone. If I can have nearly as much fun while not having to worry about tickets so much (no radar detector on the bike), it seems to make sense. I'll just have to get to the track a little more often w/ my F4 to get my 2 wheeled adrenaline fix!
