While it was ridiculously cold (for SoCal standards) sitting in the bleachers, it was amazing to see the car control and speed the drivers carried. For those of you who've never been to a drifting event and only watched it on the DVDs/video - the cars go a whole lot faster in person. Vaughn Gitten Jr. made history in his Falken-sponsored Mustang as he became the first USA driver to ever win a D1 event - beating out some seasoned pros on the Japanese side.
