I think the 2nd one is framed better but, I like the first one conveys the concept better. Have you tried shooting more level with the car rather then looking down at it?

johann: in due time, the padawan will surpass the master. but until then, you must continue your training.

XclusiveAutosports: thanks man, but just because you claim to not be able to do better, doesn't mean that you can't post what you like/dislike i appreciate that you like them though!

circa86: it was about 10 exposures. the photoshop psd file i was working on ended up being 250mb! yah, it wasn't exactly how i hoped to see it in my mind, but i guess with what i had at the time, i did the best i could.

vu: yup, already did, as well as posting on my beloved prelude forum

hunterez: i asked many opinions during editing to see which one was better, and i got mixed opinions. i think i agree w/ you though that the first one is what i was aiming for, but the second one may look better since it's simpler. the problem w/ this particular parking structure is that this path was the only exit and it was a 1 way lane, so i didn't have much time to take shots and re-compose since cars kept coming. i may redo this if i find a more photographer friendly parking structure

everyone else: thanks for looking! glad you guys like

I assume you're working with an SLR? If so, the motion picture at the top could be done quite easily in one frame.

Set the shutter time to about 3 seconds, drive 'quickly', open shutter just before the car enter the frame, and rapidly decelerate to the point where you want the car to appear. The extra second or two with the car sitting still should be solid where the rest would be a good smooth blur.

Better yet, set the shutter speed longer, 5 to 8 seconds, enter frame, stop, and leave frame. That way you get two blurs - coming and going.

hiro: dammit, quit whoring my thread! lol..btw, haven't seen you out in the last 2 thurday meets, busy @ work?

loudmusic: yah, nikon d70 dslr. i've done that with the below picture and actually was not the shot i was going for. usually, it only leaves light streaks and consequently, makes the stationary car look transparent. even with the one below, i had to do 2 shots and play w/ the layering to get the car to be 'solid' rather than transparent. i hear that the proper way of doing this would be to have a rear curtain flash, where you drive the car while the shutter is open, and once it closes, the flash goes off, capturing the car stopped. i tried this as well but don't think that i have a strong enough flash. if the method you described works, please share pics since I haven't been able to successfully pull it off without multiple shots/layers.
