Default Springs Install this past weekend

This past weekend I helped out a fellow member (Importsport) put on his Comptech Springs...after a long day of small problems and taking our time....I only came out with a busted lip and no scars.

Here is how we started

In progress......

you gotta love the front dumped

from dirty...to just plain nasty

somebody was alone outside of the garage....

The artsy Spring shot along with the final drop

The day was fun.... had a nice fun drive before the install on my personal "Mini Dragon" aka "Tennessee Touge" aka...some super curvy steep country backroads.
After we fought with the car a little getting the shocks out the install itself didn't take too long.....it was the final touches of getting the car level at the correct height and all the other misc. things that goes into it. Other than while busting a lug nut loose and me slipping and bouncing my face off of the fender along with my lip deciding to gush blood afterwards, it went well.

It was just one of those long painful days that was really alot of fun. Man, what a learning experience!

Forget the lower control arm crap in the Helms manual just release the upper control arm for the front and your gravy!

I'm very happy with the feel of the setup and the front end feels so much better with these springs than it did stock.

Also be aware that having a Small Fortune sway bar can make the install a bit tricky. It's an amazingly well built piece but when the control arm comes down the body of the shock will flush against the bolt head on the bar. Which makes manuvering it really difficult.

I'll try to get some pictures of the settled ride height today as soon as I finish work

Just took some pictures of the car itself

I'm very happy with the height. I may toy with it a little more in the back but overall it's exactally what I wanted out of the mod. I'm still much happier with my front-end response than I was on the stock springs.

Nice pics. It's hard to believe a stock car can actually be sitting that high.

Somebody ( cough cough D_S_R or Import ) should have called me that day to use the lift here and that long day experience could have been a 2 hour experience at the most. But very nice drop importsport and it flows very well with the amusing lip :

The S2k really does seem pretty low in general until you actually lower it. Then all of the sudden you realize that it really has a fairly standard vehicle ride height.

The wheels of the S2k are so far to the corners I'm amazed at how little I rub even with my lip. I have had zero problems with speed bumps etc so far!
