Is it true it is illegal in California to replace the stock wheel with one that does not have an airbag? Someone in the past has mentioned a sizable fine if caught having done this.

Yes it is. I believe it listed as tampering with a vehicle safety system (or something like that) I dont know what the fine is, but I have been pulled over with aftermarket steering wheels and never had a cop say anything about it. "knock on wood"

How short are these short hubs? I changed my seat recently and I find that if I want to sit back a bit, my arms stretch just a tad too far for my liking. Are there any long hubs out there? How much longer is a short hub + quick release vs the stock setup
