Nice comparo between both brands. I am liking the STi more and more for its practical qualites and track days readiness. Two in one.

JDM STi has the higher 8K RPM 2L with forged internals. We still get the cast 2.5L oil burning hunk of crap.

I just can't get over how ugly all the cars are.

My cousin has finally decided to go with the STi. I wonder what times the USDM STi will pull on Tsukuba!

I always figured they would be identical, yet I suppose it would be different. The engine puts out same amount of power, yet im sure the usdm motor is heavier, also our cars have usually more saftey equipment standard (metal beams etc.)

I'm sure there would be a difference (because of all the variables you mentioned), I would just love to see Best Motoring show us those differences. I would assume the USDM model would be a little slower... Then, again, maybe the torque would actually make it faster...

JDM STi revs to 8k, but boost drops off around 7k. USDM STi's redline is just below 7k, so youll still have full boost up to redline. would still take the JDM 2.0L though. LOL ive always loved the 2.0L in the previous STi's.

anybody else love the new interior design??
