This is the scheme I was going for except with gunmetal and black. I've also been considering all black.....Anyone think red on the inside and black on the face would look good?
Frank, any idea on how a powdercoated finish holds up to the weather and roads around here? It's pretty durable, isn't it?

they should hold up fine, but im sure down the road they will wear...the main thing i worry about is the mounting and balancing. find a nice shop that will take their time and mount them right...
I just did to my wheels a week or so ago. 6 coats of automotive gloss black done by a body shop with a clear coat. Use a body or paint shop for best results IMHO
Prep the wheels by sanding with 600 grit wet sanding sheets all you have to do is rough up the existing clearcoat. I would suggest taking the wheels to a tire shop and having them pop the tires off before you do this project. the painter will thank you and the finished job will be better.
Do not do a two tone scheme unless your heart is set on it. Do not try to leave a "chrome" or brushed lip. the paint will leave edges if you tape off a section and leave another section bare and it will not be perfectly edged. The edges of the paint will be noticeable. Shoot the whole rim one color to avoid this.
