8900s2k and I took the wraps off the cars yesterday and went for a short drive just to blow the cobwebs out. For you left coast guys, the white stuff on the ground is called snow.

The plates aren't really blank, that's just a reflection of the fill flash. I guess the last shot had enough of an offset that the I didn't get the flash back into the lens.
I was playing around with a new camera, so still experimenting with settings; every digital camera manufacturer uses different algorithms for their output so I need to get the adjustments right for my tastes. Still lots of work to do, but these are the first ones I'm happy with.
This is a Canon G2. I came from an older Olympus that I had adjusted to perfection. See my pics in the "darkside" thread on this forum somewhere. Only been a week with the new one so I've got a ways to go. That flat light is really tricky to get right as well, so I'm rather happy with these efforts. The toughtest thing for me is dealing with the color balance that each manufacturer seems to prefer. For example, Nikon=too red, Canon=too blue, Olympus=too flat etc. Note, those are my perceptions.
