Unless your friend is a "phenom" like Ken Griffey Jr. and John Olerud, he'll have to go through the farm system - a long road to the "show" and a set-for-life contract. Even 1st overall picks don't make the jump from high school to the show in baseball. I don't know who your friend is but I wish him luck anyway.
