Since you have both the front and rear 04 lights I would just say go for the whole swap. Even if the colors arent the most ideal arrangment in the world you are still getting that "new model" feel from the mods.
So I say go 04 front and back
As for the tails did you read up on how to do the install? Minor metal cutting and some wiring to make the LEDs flash at a decent speed.

I'll try and say this without bias since I have an '04...but the '04 looks MUCH better. You ever seen the '04 lights up close at night when they're lit up? It looks like fire. 
It just has a sweet glow to it. Plus that big ass white lens cover on the older models look ugly.
